The use of DepEd-produced instructional videos has significantly transformed mathematics instruction by enhancing students' comprehension of complex concepts through visual and auditory support. Despite this advantage of multimedia instruction, there is a lack of studies specifically examining teachers' actual experiences using these videos in their classes, especially at Mactan Elementary School. A significant gap in research regarding teachers' real-world experiences with these videos in classroom settings, particularly at Mactan Elementary School, despite the recognized benefits of multimedia instruction. This study explored math teachers' experiences through their opinions and perspectives, their teaching methods, the problems they encountered, and what they observed in their students' learning. Using a qualitative research design, selected teachers were approached to gather data and gain insights into their actual classroom experiences with DepEd videos. It is revealed that teachers were satisfied that using the videos helped them present math concepts more easily and attract students' attention. The teachers encountered problems with video pacing, alignment with the learning objectives, and video quality, prompting them to adjust their instruction and provide additional resources for their students. The study suggests ways to improve the design of teaching videos, better align videos with lesson content, and provide teachers with more training in using multimedia tools to promote student-centered math teaching.

This study focused on the professional and instructional needs of beginning science teachers in selected very large secondary schools in Lapu-Lapu City. It aimed to identify the demographic profile, instructional needs, personal and professional support needs, coping strategies, and proposed recommendations for beginning science teachers. The study used a descriptive research method with survey questionnaires administered to Teacher I science teachers with zero to three years of teaching experience. The findings revealed that most respondents were young female teachers with limited teaching experience who demonstrated very high needs in lesson planning, teaching strategies, laboratory resource utilization, mentoring, and classroom management. The results also showed that beginning science teachers experienced challenges related to workload, stress management, and balancing professional and personal responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of institutional support and continuous professional development. The study concluded that beginning science teachers require strong mentoring programs, adequate instructional resources, and sustained professional support to improve teaching effectiveness and well-being. It is recommended that schools and policymakers strengthen mentoring systems, provide continuous training opportunities, and enhance support programs for beginning science teachers.

This study explored the perceived instructional needs and challenges teachers face when teaching numeracy in the early grades. Numeracy plays an important role in developing learners’ foundational mathematical skills in the early grades. The researchers conducted this study at Gabi Elementary School, Cordova Central Elementary School, and Alegria Elementary School. The study focused on identifying the major difficulties teachers face in teaching numeracy and determining the support they need to improve instruction. It also examined their instructional needs, coping strategies, challenges, and classroom experiences. The researchers gathered the data using a semi-structured interview guide with open-ended questions. Through thematic analysis, the study found that teachers need more training in innovative teaching strategies and in the effective use of manipulatives to increase student engagement and maximize the use of digital resources. The findings also showed that teachers commonly face challenges, including learners' weak foundational skills, limited instructional materials, and limited time. The study recommends that teachers continue to apply creative teaching strategies, such as manipulatives, games, songs, real-life examples, and improvised materials. By utilizing diverse approaches for different learners, experimenting with different techniques for assessing students' learning, and participating in training programs—particularly those focused on technology and learner-centered teaching methods—teachers can also enhance their instruction.
